http://warrensburg.k12.mo.us/webquest/penguins/index.htm. In this blog I am looking into WebQuests for preschool to 3rd grade. The first, is a mission to find out information about penguins. I think this is a great tool for a classroom who has interests in animals especially this time of year to grab interest. The evaluation page explains the expectations for grading and allows the parents, and students to understand why the grade was given. Also, in each question if you click it, it brings you to a page with options for sites to answer the questions so no Wifi blocking becomes an issue. the teachers page has the exact lesson plan and why this activity is useful.
http://www.beaconlearningcenter.com/WebLessons/ChristmasBear/five10a.htm. This WebQuest is called Christmas bear and his five senses. It is a story that teaches students about the five senses. It is offered in text but also in audio for the Kindergarten Communication Arts students. I like the idea of this web quest and how it requires only one site. the only issue I could see with it is the Christmas… parents may want more holidays for religious purposes.

In my last WebQuest I found that it was informational and the use of counting money is very important, but one link brought me to Pinterest and this is not any place I want my 1st grader during class time. it did provide a link for videos, but they were directed to youtube and that could be distracting; especially with the suggested videos to view next being baby shark… I like the fact it has at home activities including a song so parents are more involved in the students education.

this web quest is awesome because it has dinosaurs and right now my classroom is in love with our Dino books so it would be helpful for lesson planning. the students not only learn about types of dinosaurs but also have to complete the tasks to finish

I enjoy this web quest but wanted to add it and explain that the video part isn’t the best… being a teacher I rather have them interact with the quest rathe then just watch… but it does give acivies after watching the video, I jus think it will take the attention span and they don’t have much at this age.
